Negative Antigen Test Results to Be Accepted for Entry into Canada

Starting February 28, testing options are expanding for travel

All passengers over the age of 5 can provide a negative rapid antigen test result for travel to Canada. The antigen test must be taken no more than 1 day prior to departure, but results can be delivered in as little as 15 minutes.

Passengers can continue to present a negative molecular test, taken no more than 72 hours prior to departure, or provide proof of a positive molecular test result taken at least 10 days and no more than 180 days prior to entry.

Additionally, arrival testing will no longer be a mandatory requirement for fully vaccinated passengers, but rather they may be selected for random testing. Passengers selected for random testing will also no longer be required to quarantine while awaiting their test results.

All passengers (regardless of how long they were away from Canada) will continue to be required to submit their mandatory information on the ArriveCAN App.

Connecting in Canada?

If you're a fully vaccinated Canadian or a foreign national:
Regardless of vaccination status, if you have a domestic connection, you can complete your journey and take the test and quarantine at your final destination.

If you are unvaccinated Canadian:
You are not permitted to continue onward domestically by air. Unvaccinated Canadians will continue to be tested on arrival, on Day 8, and must quarantine for 14 days. Border Services Officers and public health officials will provide direction to each traveller upon entry to Canada.

There are limited exemptions (e.g., crew members, essential travellers) from the pre-departure test requirement. More information can be found on the Government of Canada's website.

As with so many aspects of everyday life, the world of travel is undergoing major change due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to new policies and procedures while travelling, we can expect new and unique requirements and restrictions on travellers as well as other changes coming that are yet to be considered.

We offer services and programs designed to protect you and your company such as Uniglobe 7*24 Rescue Line, Uniglobe TripCheck and our Duty of Care provisions for safety, security and tracking of travellers. But our concept of Exceptional Care is even more than those.

Questions to ask yourself to cover all your current travel policy and traveller safety requirements.

Does your policy cover everyone’s needs?

Do you require an approval process or add another layer to the process?

Can your travellers decline a request to travel for health concerns or personal reasons?

Are your travellers well informed about the destination’s status?

Who should determine if a traveller will be allowed to travel armed with quarantine rules and immigration requirements for the destination?

What is the minimum level of hygiene a supplier is required to perform at the time of reservation?

What is the protocol should a traveller fall ill or have other concerns while travelling?

Should the traveller sign a waiver if the supplier is outside of the company’s travel policy?

What apps do you require travellers to use in the destination?

Does the company need to review our suite of corporate offerings?

Do you have travellers that book outside of your preferred Online Booking Tool or Travel Management Company? Use this time to reel them back in.

Is it time to redefine the language in your travel policy?

Do you have an executive list and their travel policy written?

Do you allow your travel to add a leisure itinerary to their business itinerary? What sort of policy or waiver is required of them?

At Uniglobe Travel, we’ve always been here for our clients. That’s our promise to you.

“As we adapt to the impacts of the global pandemic, Uniglobe’s manage your travel needs and mitigate your risks, ensuring your travellers are safe and well taken care of.”
